Book Description:
Exquisite and
powerful, if there is a theme in The Mary-el Tarot, it is one of the alchemy of
the soul; of finding balance, symmetry, mastery of the self, and becoming your
own genius. This long-awaited 78-card deck is stunningly illustrated with
traditional oil paints and a depth of symbolism found in the old classics. The
accompanying guide, Landscapes of the Abyss, takes the reader through the
meanings of each card via the landscape of the Moon and the High Priestess,
through the geometry of the temple and the Tree of Life, the Merkabah, and the caduceus!
Enter a doorway between heaven and earth, between microcosm and macrocosm,
between the world of eternity and infinity. A rare gem suitable for all levels
of tarot experience.
“Alchemy of the Soul”
How best to describe
a deck that is so deep, so layered and so beyond beautiful? This is what I have been thinking since
receiving this very special tarot deck…how can I ever do justice to something
so powerful?
This may be the most
powerful representation of The Magician I’ve encountered. The image speaks volumes by having the
Magician as the focal point of the card, yet all of the symbolism is there waiting
for you to explore.
I don’t see this deck
being used for teaching the beginner but, after the student has learned the
basics, it could demonstrate many layers of understanding to anyone who wants
to delve deeper into symbolism.
The accompanying book
is a treasure chest of knowledge that has captivated my attention for a
week. Marie White has definitely
produced a set of must have tools for anyone who studies the tarot. I recommend it to everyone! Even those who collect decks for the art will
find a source of wonder and beauty in these images.
The Bibliography is a
master list of all things wonderful!
